Counseling Policies
-
The safety of our staff and people in our space is our number one priority. Cameras are located in public areas, and a security system is active in the office. No animals can be present at the office due to safety issues, and Peace of Mind staff cannot provide childcare for children.
-
At Peace of Mind, respect for all is paramount. As therapists, we maintain timeliness as respect for time reflects our work. Acceptance and compassion for those entering our space create a safe environment for all. Our actions and space reflect our anti-racism initiative and work towards allyship. We ask that of anyone entering our space as well.
-
Payment is all done electronically to allow the session time to be utilized purely for therapy. Therefore, we ask that all participants keep an up-to-date card on file. Payment is collected at the time of services rendered. There are no refunds for counseling services. After payment, an electronic 1500 form is generated on the 15th of each month and sent to the insurance company on file. The insurance company will reimburse the family directly for services rendered.
-
The intake session and subsequent Counseling sessions are highly confidential. We also ask that anyone entering our space maintain the confidentiality of other people they may see at Peace of Mind. According to the ethics of the American Counseling Association, National Association for Social Workers, and the American Psychological Association, Peace of Mind Staff cannot share both verbal and written records about a Person utilizing services (Person) with another party without the written consent of the Person or guardian. At Peace of Mind, the therapist's policy is not to release any information about a Person without a signed release of information. The outlined exceptions required by law include:
(1) When a Person discloses intention or a plan to harm another person, the therapist is required by law to warn the intended victim and report this information to the police. In cases in which the Person discloses or implies a plan for suicide, the therapist is required to notify the police and make a reasonable attempt to tell the family of the Person;
(2) If a Person states or suggests that they are abusing a child (or vulnerable adult) or has recently abused a child (or vulnerable adult), or a child (or vulnerable adult) is in danger of abuse, the therapist is required to report this information to the appropriate social service agency and the police;
(3) Therapists are required by law to release records of Person when a court order has been placed;
(4) In the event of a Person's death, the spouse or parents of a deceased person have a right to access their spouse's or child's records.

We strive to maintain a chemical-fragrance-free environment because many students in our community have allergies and sensitivities to strong scents. Please avoid perfumes, colognes, fragranced laundry soap, and fragranced hair and body products when you come to the studio. Please also come free of body odor or smoke odor. This helps us to maintain an environment where everyone can be comfortable.
-
All sales for classes, privates, semi-private, and small groups are final – no refunds or exchanges. Workshops, events and training must be canceled 7 days prior to the event for a full refund. Retail items may be exchanged unused and with the tags on with a receipt within 2 weeks of purchase date.
-
For your own safety and well-being, please arrive for your class on time. If you arrive later than 10 minutes after the start of your class/workshop, you will not be let in. This is to ensure that you get a proper warmup and to minimize disruptions for the students who have arrived on time.

There are 5 spots on the waitlist for our small group yoga classes. Adding your name to the waitlist provides you a great opportunity to get into class! We will contact you via phone or text (if you opted in for text communications) if a spot opens up and you can decide if you want to join the class. If you want to stop by to see if there is a last-minute spot, you are welcome to do so.
By engaging in services at Peace of Mind, you agree to the above policies outlined.
